Sheri Lambert
Orebody Analyst
M.Sc. (Physics), MSAIMM, MGASA, MSAIP
|
Sheri joined Venmyn in September 2011. She has an M.Sc. in Physics from Rhodes University and is a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Geostatistical Association of South Africa and South African Institute of Physics.
Sheri provides the geostatistical input in the assessment of Mineral Resource reports as well as doing modelling for Venmyn Independent Projects. Her twenty years of experience as a geostatistician covers projects in base metals, gold and platinum group deposits. Sheri also enjoys enabling people to do their own resource modelling. Previously with GMSI and before that Gold Fields Mining and Development, a “power user” of Datamine, she has considerable experience developing resource estimation systems for clients.
Sheri came to Mining Geostatistics as a career change after many years as a research physicist. The challenge of creating a mathematical description of natural phenomena has always fascinated her. The most exciting part of a modelling project is the breakthrough of starting to understand what the data are describing. The orebody is “talking to me” is how Sheri describes that stage. |
